A quick overview of Facebook PPC
When using Facebook PPC as a marketing medium, it’s very important NOT to use “spammy” terminology in your PPC ad copy.
I’ve been using Facebook PPC marketing for some time and really LOVE it! In this post I want to give potential Facebook PPC marketers a brief overview of one of my ads and explain the stats behind it. Hopefully this will familiarize you with the concept and explain the terminology associated with Facebook PPC.
The number one reason I love Facebook PPC marketing is pretty simple, you can target specific interests very quickly! Unlike Google PPC, where you have to agonize over each Keyword you choose and wonder if it will be ranked high enough, Facebook PPC allows you to type in the interests specific to your niche that you are targeting. This takes most of the guess work out of whether or not your ad will get a ton of exposure.
I like to target MLM company owners as my niche. The Facebook PPC ad I ran for one of my targeted MLM companies is below. I’ll explain the stats from the ad to give you a better understanding of what constitutes a successful Facebook PPC ad:
As you can see, I started the Facebook PPC ad on 4-20-11 and it didn’t get approved by Facebook till late in the day. On 4-21-11 the ad started pulling pretty decent stats. Below is an explanation of the most important stats:
Date: Actual date that Facebook PPC ad was running.
Imp: The number of “impressions” or how many times my Facebook PPC ad showed up on someones Facebook site.
Clicks: The number of times someone actually “clicked” on my Facebook PPC ad.
CTR: “Click Through Rate” is the number of clicks divided by the number of impressions.
Avg CPC: The average amount you ended up spending for each click. (This is determined by a number of variables but the lower the number the Better! A CPC under .20 cents is pretty good)
Daily Budget: This is the maximum amount you agreed to spend on your Facebook PPC ad. Once the daily limit is reached, the ad stops showing.
The totals on the bottom row show the aggregate numbers for the entire ad’s life. I ran this Facebook PPC ad a little over two weeks and it was by all accounts a successful money making ad. Facebook PPC is not easy, you still have to do a lot of research to find the right ad copy and figure out how to find low CPC interests when setting up your Facebook ad. But once you hit a home run and enjoy lots of impressions, CTR and low CPC, it will make you feel like a marketing Facebook PPC Genius!
By the way, once you master Facebook PPC and the leads start flowing in, you will want the BEST Marketing platform on your side. Click on the banner below to get your FREE training on how to become a Facebook Marketing Superstar!
